Other Facial Skin Conditions

In addition to the skin conditions we have discussed in other sections there are other skin conditions, if not properly attended to and treated, will prevent you from getting to that fresh-faced look you aspire to.

  • SkinResurfacing2A
  • SkinResurfacing2B
  • SkinResurfacing2C
(Results may vary with each individual and are not guaranteed)
  • Dark Under Eye Circles – can be the result of a host of things including allergies, heredity, poor sleep and diet, hyperpigmentation from sun damage, smoking and alcohol consumption.

  • Enlarged Pores - genetics, oily skin, gender, and loss of skin elasticity due to aging all contribute to enlarged pores.

  • Oily Skin – Oily skin is caused by over-active sebaceous glands that produce sebum, a naturally healthy skin lubricant. When the skin produces excessive sebum, it becomes heavy and thick in texture. Oily skin is characterized by shininess, blemishes and pimples and is especially susceptible to clogged pores, blackheads, and buildup of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.

  • Rough/Dry Skin - Also known as Xerosis Cutis, in many cases is the result of dryness. Low humidity levels, sun exposure, harsh soaps, acne treatments and other abrasive factors degrade the skin's natural moisture barrier, leading to peeling, irritation and cracks.

  • Dull/Lifeless Skin - Anything that deprives your skin of much-needed oxygen and blood flow will result in a dull skin tone. These include smoking, dehydration, dust and pollution, improper diet and spending too much time indoors.

Many non-invasive treatments are available to treat these conditions quite effectively and include chemical peels, microdermabrasion, IPL lasers, fractional lasers and radio frequency energy. Before undergoing any treatment it is important to know exactly what is causing the particular skin condition as in many instances a combination of treatments might be needed.
